About The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Java Developer to join our remote team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining scalable, enterprise-grade web applications and distributed systems that operate at significant scale across multiple business domains. You will lead end-to-end engineering efforts, translating complex business requirements into robust technical solutions, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, secure, and performant software products. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Java and the Spring ecosystem, along with strong front-end development skills using modern JavaScript frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field
• Minimum of 6 years of professional experience in software development
• Extensive knowledge of Java (versions 11 and 17) and the Spring Boot framework
• Proven experience designing and operating microservices architectures
• Strong front-end development experience with React, Angular, or Vue
• Solid understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle, or SQL Server
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and Git-based version control systems
• Experience deploying applications on major cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP
• Excellent debugging, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis skills
• Strong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and system design principles

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and optimize scalable microservices using Java and Spring Boot, ensuring they are independently deployable and aligned with enterprise architecture standards
• Write secure, high-quality production code following internal standards and security best practices, including input validation, authentication, and encryption
• Develop responsive, component-based front-end applications with a focus on user experience, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility
• Design and implement RESTful APIs and event-driven integrations to connect distributed backend systems, defining clear contracts and error-handling protocols
• Participate in architecture and design discussions, providing insights on scalability, resiliency, maintainability, and cost-efficiency
• Continuously monitor and optimize application performance, database queries, JVM tuning, and API throughput
• Implement and maintain state management patterns for complex front-end applications to ensure predictable data flow and ease of debugging
• Develop comprehensive automated test suites covering unit, integration, and functional testing to ensure software quality and reliability
• Contribute to CI/CD pipeline automation, enabling fast and safe deployment processes across multiple environments
• Identify system bottlenecks, technical debt, and architectural weaknesses, driving remediation efforts through refactoring and technical design improvements
• Collaborate within Agile/Scrum teams, participating in sprint planning, daily standups, retrospectives, and demos to ensure timely delivery of high-value features
• Maintain detailed technical documentation including architecture diagrams, API specifications, deployment guides, and runbooks for ongoing support and knowledge sharing
