About The Role
The Java Developer role at Conduent is a vital position within the software engineering team, primarily focused on designing, developing, and supporting comprehensive software solutions for child support systems. This remote position requires a proactive individual capable of collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely delivery of high-quality enterprise applications. The role involves transforming detailed requirements into maintainable, scalable solutions, performing detailed application design, and providing technical leadership to team members. The Java Developer will also be responsible for addressing production issues, working closely with support teams to ensure clarity and resolution. Candidates should possess strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC), and experience with configuration management, environment setup, and migration activities.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3+ years of experience with Java technologies
- At least 3 years of experience in database-driven, multi-tier software development
- Proficiency with at least two major databases, preferably Oracle and MS SQL Server
- Hands-on experience with Java 11, JPA, Apache, Tomcat, Eclipse, Maven, Ant Builds, Bamboo
- Experience with Spring Boot, Spring Security, Spring MVC Rest, Spring Cloud, Jasper Reports
- Familiarity with Jira, Bit Bucket, Bamboo, Artifactory, Gradle, Flyway, Docker
- Experience with front-end technologies including HTML, CSS, XML, JSON, JavaScript, and Angular
- Experience working with Microservices architecture, deploying on Kubernetes clusters using Docker images
- Strong SQL skills, including writing complex queries for Oracle and SQL Server databases
- Experience with Linux commands and Shell scripting
- Knowledge of consuming and publishing SOAP and RESTful web services
- Experience with object-oriented analysis, design, and programming
- Familiarity with the latest SDLC methodologies
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration with project managers, clients, and team members
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-level software solutions for child support systems
- Collaborate with project teams to gather requirements and transform them into scalable, maintainable applications
- Perform detailed application design and code reviews to ensure high-quality standards
- Lead and mentor team members to deliver projects on time and within scope
- Coordinate with production support teams to troubleshoot and resolve live system issues
- Work on deployment activities including environment setup, migration, and configuration management
- Develop and consume web services, including SOAP and RESTful APIs, to facilitate integration
- Write complex SQL queries and optimize database interactions for performance
- Implement microservices using Spring Boot and deploy them on Kubernetes clusters with Docker
- Maintain documentation related to system architecture, design, and deployment processes
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives
