About the role
Our client is seeking multiple mid-level and senior Java Developers to support several strategic initiatives, including mortgage pricing modernization, financial systems integrations, and core application modernization. These developers will work with business stakeholders and technical leads to design, develop, and enhance enterprise applications that support critical financial products and services. The ideal candidate is a problem solver who thrives in a collaborative environment and can contribute across the technology stack.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain full-stack Java-based enterprise applications.
- Build and enhance REST APIs, backend services, and web applications.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, architects, and development teams to deliver solutions.
- Support modernization initiatives, including the migration of a .NET-based mortgage pricing tool to Java.
- Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, and performance optimization efforts.
- Develop scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions following best practices.
- Contribute to front-end development efforts using Angular or React.
- Troubleshoot production issues and provide application support.
Requirements
- 5+ years of professional Java development experience.
- Strong experience with full-stack development, including Java, Spring Boot, Hibernate, and RESTful APIs.
- Proficiency in front-end technologies such as Angular or React.
- Experience with version control systems like Git and relational databases (SQL).
- Familiarity with microservices architecture.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within the financial services industry, particularly with mortgage products, loan origination, or capital markets.
- Experience with both .NET and Java environments.
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience working on large modernization or system replacement initiatives.
- Ability to serve as a technical mentor for junior developers.
