Location: Albany, NY 12237 – on-site role with long-term duration (30 months).
About the role
The Software Developer will support various healthcare data projects within the Center for Health Data Innovation (CHDI). CHDI is responsible for data collection and data warehousing for several major systems, including the Statewide Planning and Research Cooperative System (SPARCS) and the All-Payer Database (APD).
- SPARCS has been in operation since 1982, collecting data from 400+ facilities, processing 40+ million discharge-level transactions annually, and warehousing 40+ calendar years of data.
- The APD system has been in operation since 2018, collecting data from 80+ insurers, processing 800+ million claim-level transactions annually, and warehousing 7 calendar years of data.
The integrity and operations of these systems are critical to the day-to-day management of healthcare facilities, programs, insurance products, and health-services research.
Requirements
- 84 months of experience designing, implementing, and deploying Java applications using modern JavaScript libraries.
- 84 months of experience with relational and NoSQL databases (Oracle, Postgres, MongoDB, DynamoDB, etc.).
- 84 months of experience programming Oracle WebLogic Java applications from specifications expressed by use cases, class diagrams, interaction diagrams, and sequence diagrams.
- 84 months of experience using the Spring framework.
- 84 months of experience with cloud services (AWS, etc.), setting up CI/CD pipelines, and running microservices for on-premises architecture.
- 84 months of experience using Hibernate, myBATIS, or other Object-Relational Mapping frameworks.
- 84 months of experience creating technical documentation, including use cases, test plans, and test scripts.
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
Preferred experience
- Healthcare data intake, data warehousing, or submitter tracking systems.
- Healthcare claims, member enrollment, or facility data.
