About the role
This role involves developing and maintaining the back-end/server-side components of applications, including APIs, databases, and services containing business logic. The focus is on creating scalable, secure, and efficient services either on-premises or in the cloud, using various programming languages and tools.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage with customers to understand their use-cases and requirements.
- Solve complex problems by designing, developing, and delivering solutions using diverse tools, programming languages, frameworks, and technologies.
- Align development efforts with overarching architecture guidelines for a unified approach.
- Design, develop, and deploy new code, including APIs and microservices, primarily using languages such as Java.
- Collaborate with front-end developers and cross-functional teams like product owners, designers, and architects to ensure seamless integration.
- Manage application deployment to cloud or on-prem environments, ensuring health monitoring, security hardening, and disaster recovery.
- Oversee data storage and retrieval within applications leveraging database technologies like MySQL, MongoDB, and others.
- Advocate for best programming practices, including test-driven development, continuous integration, and continuous delivery.
- Optimize infrastructure and deployment strategies to enhance application resiliency and reliability.
- Support security best practices to protect user data through encryption and anonymization.
Required Qualifications
- At least 5 years of experience in IT and 3 years of hands-on development.
- Proficiency with at least one programming language or framework.
- Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience with back-end application development, including APIs and microservices.
- Familiarity with cloud and on-prem deployment and management.
- Understanding of secure coding practices and data protection techniques.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with DevSecOps practices beyond pipelines, including tools like GitHub Actions.
- Knowledge of cloud security, identity and access management, and preferred cloud platforms such as GCP.
- In-depth knowledge of full-stack application development and DevSecOps CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience supporting product users and enabling product/service enhancements.
- Ability to use AI responsibly to improve product and service delivery.
- Strong independent work management, problem-solving skills, and thought leadership qualities.
- Excellent communication skills with clarity and conciseness.
