Japanese Business Network - Private Tax Manager
About the role
A career within PwC Private will provide the opportunity to help private companies with a range of business advisory needs such as audit, tax compliance, and planning to help improve their operational efficiency and to free up time that can be spent focusing on business strategy. You’ll have the opportunity to experience the entire business life cycle of a private company from inception to growth, maturity and transition. Our team helps our clients design and implement personal and customised service plans that are unique to privately owned entities, entrepreneurs, and high net worth individuals. You’ll be assisting the team focus on key issues like wealth management, compliance, cash flow management, equity expansion, divestiture and exit strategies.

Responsibilities
- Develop new skills outside of comfort zone
- Act to resolve issues which prevent the team working effectively
- Coach others, recognise their strengths, and encourage them to take ownership of their personal development
- Analyse complex ideas or proposals and build a range of meaningful recommendations
- Use multiple sources of information including broader stakeholder views to develop solutions and recommendations
- Address sub-standard work or work that does not meet firm’s/client’s expectations
- Use data and insights to inform conclusions and support decision-making
- Develop a point of view on key global trends, and how they impact clients
- Manage a variety of viewpoints to build consensus and create positive outcomes for all parties
- Simplify complex messages, highlighting and summarizing key points
- Uphold the firm’s code of ethics and business conduct
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- 4 years of experience
- CPA, Member of the Bar or other tax, technology, or finance-specific credentials may qualify for this opportunity
- Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing Japanese
Skills
- Broad knowledge of complex tax issues
- Proficiency in US entities with operations in Japan
- Building and maintaining client relationships
- Communicating key propositions effectively
- Managing project workflow and budgets
- Supervising teams to foster trust and innovation
- Coaching staff with meaningful feedback
Pay
The salary range for this position is: $99,000 - $266,000. Actual compensation within the range will be dependent upon the individual's skills, experience, qualifications and location, and applicable employment laws.
