Janitorial Supervisor/Night Manager

About the role
The Janitorial Supervisor/Night Manager assists with management of contract compliance for designated commercial building maintenance services and maintains the relationship between City Wide and Independent Contractors. You will review client contracts to ensure work expectations are met.
This is a part-time, second-shift position with occasional weekend work. The territory includes Westchester, Rockland, Orange, Putnam, and the Bronx. Reliable personal transportation and a clean driving record are required.
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain productive working relationships with Independent Contractors (ICs) by communicating client priorities and collaborating on problem-solving.
- Review scopes of work and ensure quality assurance per account to retain existing business and gain new business.
- Communicate with Facility Services Manager (FSM) daily regarding issues needing immediate attention, including nightly recaps via email or phone.
- Make recommendations for IC work assignments, manage to client standards and company guidelines, and discharge if service level agreements are not met.
- Manage inspections, customer complaints, requests, new client starts, or VIP treatment needing attention.
- Execute City Wide's New-Start Policy, Customer Complaint Policy, Four Star Policy, and other operational policies and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with client policies and procedures.
- Guarantee use of approved cleaning tools and equipment and their proper use.
- Perform other duties as necessary.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent experience in the commercial janitorial services industry.
- 3+ years of prior experience in shift management, including supervising, auditing, and providing direction to direct reports.
- Strong planning, organization skills, and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Innovative mindset with a focus on continuous process improvement.
- English and Spanish speaking is a plus but not mandatory.
- CRM experience preferred.
- Building, facilities, janitorial, or similar industry experience a plus.
- Valid driver’s license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation.
Physical Demands
The role requires constant sitting, bending, standing, and walking, as well as the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
