Position Summary
This position supports the work of the YMCA of the Rockies, Estes Park Center, which operates a mission-based family and group conference and retreat center, serving more than 175,000 guests annually. The Janitorial Services Team Member is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and sanitation of public spaces, restrooms, and meeting/event areas throughout the facility.
About the Role
The Janitorial Services Team Member ensures a welcoming environment by conducting thorough cleaning, responding to urgent sanitation needs, and assisting with general upkeep. While focused on janitorial duties, this position will also assist in event and meeting room set-ups as needed.
Essential Functions
- Perform routine and deep cleaning of public areas, restrooms, lobbies, stairwells, hallways, and meeting spaces
- Restock janitorial closets with necessary supplies and ensure all janitorial storage areas remain tidy and well-maintained
- Responds to carpet cleaning, biohazard clean up, public fixture repair and replacement, and water extraction needs that arise
- Exhibit superior guest service abilities through clear, professional and friendly interactions with all guests and staff
- Execute janitorial delivery orders
- Support conference set-up needs when requested, including assisting with moving tables, chairs, and equipment
- Possess stamina for strenuous work load with the ability to lift carpet cleaning machines, medium to large vacuums, chairs, tables, deliverables, and stage pieces
Requirements/Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail and cleanliness
- Ability to work efficiently in a physically demanding role (lifting up to 60 lbs, bending, kneeling, standing for long periods)
- Willingness to learn cleaning and event set-up procedures and execute to high standards
- Possess excellent guest service and interpersonal skills
- Strong communication skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team
- Able to troubleshoot problems under pressure and in stressful situations
- Able to prioritize work assignments and self-supervise on projects and daily work assignments when necessary
- Willingness to work rotating shifts sometimes early mornings or late nights, weekends, and holidays
- Possess and maintain a valid driver's license and comply with YMCA driving record rules
- Provide office reception as needed, including radio dispatch and interdepartmental communication via phone, radio and email

Work Environment And Physical Demands
- Be able to lift, carry, and set-up various objects including but not limited carpet cleaning machines, medium to large vacuums, chairs, tables, deliverables, and stage pieces
- Be able to bend, stoop, kneel, vacuum, climb a ladder, scrub restrooms, public areas, and event spaces using a variety of cleaning chemicals
- The employee needs sufficient strength, agility, and mobility to perform essential functions and perform activities in a wide variety of indoor and outdoor locations
- The employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 60 lbs
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
