Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (Occasional evenings & weekends required).
About the role
We are seeking an experienced and motivated Janitorial Project Manager to oversee daily custodial operations, lead a team of cleaning professionals, and ensure our facilities meet the highest standards of cleanliness, safety, and presentation. While some administrative duties are required, this is not a desk job — the majority of your time will be spent on the floor supporting operations.
Responsibilities
- Performs routine and specialized cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, trash removal, restroom sanitation, and floor-care procedures, working directly alongside the custodial team to maintain high standards of cleanliness.
- Leads by example by actively participating in daily operations while training, coaching, and supporting custodial staff throughout their shifts to ensure consistent performance and teamwork.
- Completes essential administrative duties such as timesheets, basic reports, and staff scheduling, while keeping desk work to a minimum to remain present on the floor.
- Conducts regular walk-through inspections, identifies and corrects deficiencies, and ensures that all assigned areas meet or exceed established cleanliness and safety standards.
- Operates, maintains, and troubleshoots commercial cleaning equipment such as floor machines, buffers, auto-scrubbers, and vacuums, ensuring all tools are used safely and effectively.
- Monitors and restocks cleaning supplies, tracks inventory levels, and assists with ordering materials to ensure the team has the resources needed for daily operations.
- Follows and enforces OSHA regulations, PPE requirements, and chemical-handling procedures to maintain a safe working environment for all staff.
- Responds promptly to spills, urgent cleaning needs, and after-hours calls, taking immediate action to resolve issues and maintain facility safety.
Requirements
- High school diploma or technical certificate.
- Minimum of 3 to 4 years of experience in Janitorial or facilities management.
- Minimum of 2 years' supervisory or team lead experience.
- Experience managing multi-site janitorial operations.
- Strong understanding of commercial cleaning techniques, equipment, and chemicals.
- Proficiency in health and safety regulations related to cleaning, including OSHA standards.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Teams, Outlook, Excel).
- Valid driver's license and Real ID.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain government base access.

Physical & Environmental Demands
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and reaching throughout your shift to clean and maintain different areas.
- Repetitive motions such as mopping, sweeping, wiping, and scrubbing surfaces.
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull cleaning equipment and supplies weighing up to 25-30 pounds regularly.
- Navigating stairs, ramps, or uneven flooring safely while carrying tools or supplies.
- Work is primarily indoors in commercial buildings with varying temperature and lighting conditions.
- Exposure to cleaning chemicals, disinfectants, and solvents—training is provided to ensure safe handling, and personal protective equipment (PPE) is always required.
- Possible exposure to dust, dirt, allergens, and other typical indoor environmental factors.
- May encounter biohazardous materials or bodily fluids (especially in healthcare or public restrooms) with proper safety protocols and PPE in place.
- Working in confined or awkward spaces such as under sinks, behind furniture, or inside equipment areas may be required.
- Noise from vacuum cleaners, floor buffers, and other cleaning machinery may be present; hearing protection provided when necessary.
