Janitorial Cleaner

Responsibilities

• Perform thorough cleaning and disinfection of patient rooms, exam rooms, operating rooms, restrooms, waiting areas, and other clinical and non-clinical spaces.
• Respond promptly to emergency cleaning requests, including biohazard spills and terminal cleaning.
• Follow strict infection prevention and control protocols, including proper use of PPE and hospital-grade disinfectants.
• Safely handle and dispose of medical and general waste.
• Replenish supplies such as soap, paper towels, and sanitizers.
• Document tasks completed and report any maintenance or safety issues.
• Collaborate with nursing and clinical staff to ensure cleaning needs are met efficiently and respectfully.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Previous experience in healthcare or commercial cleaning is required.
• Knowledge of infection control standards and cleaning procedures in a healthcare setting is necessary.
• The ability to work independently and respond to on-call requests with short notice is important.
• A strong attention to detail and commitment to safety and hygiene are essential.
• The physical ability to lift up to 50 lbs, stand for long periods, and perform repetitive tasks is required.
