Janitor - Full Time

About the role

Your role as a Janitor at Life Care Services will involve maintaining the cleanliness and neatness of all carpets and floors within the Sagewood community. This includes performing other custodial tasks as assigned.

Responsibilities

• Maintain cleanliness and neatness of all carpets and floors
• Perform other custodial tasks as assigned

Requirements

• Valid driver's license and clean driving record (position requires driving a golf cart)
• Knowledge of cleaning equipment and chemicals
• Demonstrated ability to work safely with cleaning materials
• Ability to learn and apply methods of cleaning and caring for buildings and equipment
• Team player with ability to work in a structured environment
• Capable of handling multiple tasks and lifting up to 50 pounds independently
• Able to stand and walk for up to 8 hours per day, stoop, kneel, bend, reach, stretch, and push/pull wheeled carts and equipment weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Able to operate a vacuum and work in confined spaces
• Able to work in environments with residents and handle unpleasant odors, high heat levels, and institutional cleaning chemicals

Qualifications

• 6 months of hard floor and carpet care preferred but not required

Skills

• Understanding and following instructions
• Effective communication skills
