Janitor - Day Shift

About the Role

This position ensures a clean and healthy work environment by cleaning, sanitizing, and performing general upkeep of lunchrooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, offices, and surrounding areas. The role requires compliance with safety work rules, food safety and quality policies, and adherence to GMP and HACCP guidelines to maintain SQF Level 3 certification.

Shift: Day shift, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday.

Location: Michael Foods Gaylord Distribution Center in Gaylord, Minnesota.

Responsibilities

• Clean, sanitize, and maintain lunchrooms, bathrooms, locker rooms, offices, and surrounding areas.
• Remove trash and operate sanitation equipment (e.g., floor scrubbers).
• Assist in other areas as needed.
• Adhere to safe work practices, GMP, and HACCP guidelines to maintain sanitary conditions and product quality.
• Report any conditions or practices that may adversely affect food safety, food quality, or personnel safety to management.
• Maintain a positive work atmosphere by communicating effectively with customers, clients, co-workers, and management.
• Ensure a safe and healthy workplace by following all safety policies and procedures.
• Comply with regulatory requirements and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Ability to read a limited number of two- and three-syllable words and recognize similarities and differences between words and series of numbers.
• Ability to print and speak simple sentences.
• Basic math skills: add and subtract two-digit numbers, multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s, and perform operations using American units of money, weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to follow oral instructions and apply common sense to standardized situations involving one concrete variable.
• No prior experience or training required.

Pay

$18.36 to $21.16 per hour.
