Janitor/Custodian (Part-Time)

About the role

This role involves maintaining the cleanliness and safety of the building and surrounding property, including sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning restrooms, windows, and fixtures. It includes exterior maintenance such as removing leaves, trash, snow, and ice, and assisting with setup for programs and events.

Responsibilities

• Receiving and storing donations
• Removing trash according to local schedules
• Reporting hazards
• Supporting seasonal programs
• Transporting volunteers or supplies
• Performing maintenance tasks

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED
• Valid NYS driver’s license
• Handyman or trades skills preferred

Skills

• Ability to operate cleaning equipment and manual tools safely
• Effective communication
• Ability to work outdoors in various weather
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
• Flexibility in schedule and physical stamina
