Janitor/ Bailer Operator
About the role
As a Janitor/Baler Operator at Tailored Brands, you will operate machines that compact waste materials—such as cardboard, paper, plastic, or fabric—into dense, manageable bales for recycling or disposal. This role includes housekeeping, janitorial duties, and adherence to strict safety protocols.
Responsibilities
- Safely load, operate, and monitor balers to ensure efficient compaction of waste materials.
- Break down, sort, and transport recyclable materials (cardboard, paper, plastic, fabric) to the baler.
- Securely bind finished bales with wire or twine, label them, remove them from the machine, and transport them to the holding location within the building.
- Perform routine cleaning on the baler and work area to prevent downtime or injury.
- Dispose of trash as needed.
- Handle janitorial duties including sweeping, mopping, and cleaning of required areas.
- Transport, carry, and lift tools, materials, and equipment as required.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.

Requirements
- Previous experience in a warehouse, production, or recycling environment is preferred.
- Basic mechanical aptitude for troubleshooting and the ability to operate a pallet jack daily.
- Ability to lift up to 60 lbs, stand for long periods, and work in varied temperatures.
Work Environment
This position is within a manufacturing facility. The environment can be loud and dusty, requiring strict adherence to safety guidelines. Physical labor is required, including lifting and carrying.
Pay
The starting salary for this position is $15.75 – $18.00 per hour and may increase to $20.00 depending on merit, length of service with the Company, and other factors. Base pay is based on market location and may be subject to prevailing wage laws, if applicable.
