Janitor- Austin Industrial (Artesia, NM)

The Janitor position is responsible for keeping the buildings tidy, clean, and well‑maintained.

Responsibilities

• Comply with company safety policies and procedures.
• Sweep, mop, and vacuum floors.
• Wax furniture and clean fixtures.
• Dispose of trash and empty trash receptacles.
• Keep buildings free from indoor pests.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning agents and equipment.
• Ensure equipment and lights are switched off, and premises are locked after hours.
• Collaborate with contract cleaning services.
• Maintain regular attendance, timeliness, and scheduling flexibility.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, sit, twist, stoop, crouch, kneel, and work in confined spaces.
• Make visual inspections, precise hand and finger movements, and reach or grasp objects.
• Lift and/or carry up to 50 lb; push and/or pull up to 50 lb.
• Climb up to 200 ft.
• Perceive color differences and wear required personal protective equipment (beards not permitted).
• Perform strenuous physical activity as needed.

Qualifications

• No minimum education requirement.
• Previous janitorial or custodial experience in an industrial setting.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling and cleaning procedures.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Ability to lift 50 lb and work on foot for extended periods.
• Any valid photo ID acceptable.
