Janitor

About the role

The Janitor position at Pelican Products is located in South Deerfield, MA. This role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the manufacturing facility, offices, and common areas.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, lunchrooms, break areas, and common spaces throughout the facility.
• Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and maintain floors, walls, and windows.
• Dust surfaces, clean blinds, and perform floor stripping and waxing activities as required.
• Empty waste receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
• Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies throughout the facility.
• Clean tables, chairs, microwaves, refrigerators, and kitchen appliances in employee break areas.
• Maintain outdoor eating areas and assist with general outdoor upkeep as needed.
• Maintain daily cleaning schedules and cleaning logs and documentation.
• Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and communicate replenishment needs.
• Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other powered cleaning tools.
• Support a culture of teamwork by assisting other departments as needed.
• Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
• Follow company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or facility maintenance experience preferred.
• Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and cleaning procedures or a willingness to learn.
• Able to safely operate powered cleaning equipment and tools.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean work environments.
• Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks effectively.
• Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
• Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
