About the role
The Janitor position at Pelican Products is located in South Deerfield, MA. This role involves maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment throughout the manufacturing facility, offices, and common areas.
Responsibilities
- Clean and maintain restrooms, offices, lunchrooms, break areas, and common spaces throughout the facility.
- Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, and maintain floors, walls, and windows.
- Dust surfaces, clean blinds, and perform floor stripping and waxing activities as required.
- Empty waste receptacles and transport waste to designated disposal areas.
- Replenish restroom and cleaning supplies throughout the facility.
- Clean tables, chairs, microwaves, refrigerators, and kitchen appliances in employee break areas.
- Maintain outdoor eating areas and assist with general outdoor upkeep as needed.
- Maintain daily cleaning schedules and cleaning logs and documentation.
- Maintain inventory levels of cleaning supplies and communicate replenishment needs.
- Operate and maintain cleaning equipment including floor buffers, scrubbers, vacuums, and other powered cleaning tools.
- Support a culture of teamwork by assisting other departments as needed.
- Maintain clean, organized, and safe work areas.
- Follow company policies, quality standards, and safety procedures.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Previous housekeeping, janitorial, custodial, or facility maintenance experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of cleaning products, equipment, and cleaning procedures or a willingness to learn.
- Able to safely operate powered cleaning equipment and tools.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining clean work environments.
- Ability to work independently and manage daily tasks effectively.
- Positive attitude and strong teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
