Janitor

About the role

A Janitor performs custodial services to maintain buildings and facilities in a safe and sanitary manner. This includes both routine maintenance and non-routine assignments under a government contract.

Responsibilities

• Sweeping, mopping or scrubbing, and polishing floors
• Removing chips, trash, and other refuse
• Dusting equipment, furniture, or fixtures; polishing metal fixtures or trimmings
• Providing supplies and minor maintenance services
• Cleaning lavatories, showers, and restrooms

Requirements

• Ability to comply with all safety requirements and wear personal protective equipment at all times
• Ability to comply with instruction and direction
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team
• Must successfully pass a background investigation for both the company and the government
• Must be able to perform physical labor, including lifting and carrying a maximum of 50 lbs
• May require a valid driver’s license
