About the role

Ensure the building is kept clean, well-maintained, and safe on a daily basis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all aspects of facility cleaning.
  • Develop and utilize a janitorial and maintenance schedule to ensure implementation of scheduled duties.
  • Ensure efficient flow and timely completion of work orders.
  • Engage in painting and performing structural repairs to masonry, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings, as well as assisting the supervisor with larger projects.
  • Ensure all equipment, tools, and machinery are in proper working condition.
  • Monitor and control supplies and equipment; prepare and submit requisitions for supplies and tools as necessary to ensure cost efficiency.
  • Communicate needs or problems to supervisor.
  • Ensure safety-related problems are corrected in accordance with Community Link safety regulations to maintain a safe environment.
  • Assist the supervisor with the preparation of the facility maintenance budget; submit budget recommendations; monitor expenditures; prepare cost estimates; and submit justifications for equipment.
  • Aid in the development of the agency by promoting volunteerism and raising awareness to the general public.

Requirements

  • Six months of related janitorial and maintenance experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to use mop, broom, and other tools, including a ladder, necessary to complete job duties.

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently required to stand and walk.
  • Occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; talk or hear; and taste or smell.
  • Continuously required to lift up to 10 lbs.
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 24 pounds.
  • Occasionally required to lift and/or move 25 to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
