About the role
As a Middle School Math Teacher at Smilow Prep, you will:
Responsibilities
- Drive Academic Excellence
- Foster deep conceptual understanding through inquiry, discussion, and problem-solving
- Use real-time data to drive daily instruction and ensure all scholars reach academic mastery
- Cultivate meaningful relationships with scholars and families
- Provide specialized support to meet the needs of diverse learners
- Integrate technology, hands-on activities, and real-world applications to deepen learning
- Use frequent formative assessments to target instruction and close gaps quickly
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree (required)
- Prior experience teaching math, particularly in schools serving historically underserved communities (preferred)
- Strong content knowledge in middle grades mathematics, with the ability to teach conceptual understanding, procedural fluency, and application (preferred)
