Summary
Under general supervision of the Director of Pharmacy and direct supervision of the Pharmacy Operations Coordinator and daily supervision by Staff Pharmacists, uses the pharmaceutical services process to safely provide medication distribution. Performs a variety of functions, which involve demonstration of proficient clerical skills, accurate information management/data entry, obtaining supplies, and performing technical support functions. The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacists in providing pharmaceutical services to patients including the preparation of parenteral admixtures, packaging, distributing, and charging medications.
Responsibilities
- Assists in the preparation of parenteral admixtures
- Packages and distributes medications
- Charges medications
- Accurately manages information/data entry
- Obtains necessary supplies
- Performs technical support functions
- Rotates between day, evening, and weekend shifts as determined by the Director of Pharmacy
Requirements
- Licensed with MS Board of Pharmacy: PTCB/Ex CPT Board Certified
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Completion of an accredited pharmacy technician program
- Current certification as a Pharmacy Technician
