Evaluate medication orders
Evaluate medication orders for appropriateness of drug, dosage, potential interactions and proper administration.
Maintain medicines
- Ensure that dispensed medicines are correctly supplied and labeled.
- Maintain customers’ database to include medical history, clinical and laboratory data, etc.
- Investigate and resolve medication-related queries.
- Communicate with facilities’ nursing staff, physicians and other healthcare team members in regard to medication-related queries.
- Supervise the preparation of any medicines.
- Maintain a register of controlled drugs for legal and stock control purposes.
- Perform “on-call” duties when required.
Evaluation of pediatric dosages
- Evaluate pediatric dosages and ability to make recommendations for dosage adjustments.
- Knowledge of correct pediatric rates and infusion times.
Evaluation of IV equipment
- Conduct high quality checks for adverse reactions and interactions.
- Evaluation of IV equipment and compatibility.
Experience
- Experience with pediatric and neonatal Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPNs).
Schedule
Full Time Evenings, 3:00pm-11:00pm - Monday through Friday and every other weekend.
