About the role
AECOM is seeking an ITS Project Manager to support municipal transportation clients across Texas, with positions available in Austin, Houston, Dallas, San Antonio, or El Paso. This is a hybrid position serving as the technical and project lead for mid- to large-scale Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) projects.
Responsibilities
- Serve as Lead Engineer and Project Manager on mid- to large-scale ITS projects.
- Provide specialized technical expertise in ITS planning, design, and system integration.
- Lead development of technical studies, detailed design packages, and implementation strategies.
- Present complex technical solutions and recommendations to municipal and transit clients.
- Perform quality control reviews and approve technical work prepared by project teams.
- Develop project scopes, schedules, engineering budgets, and resource plans.
- Cookordination across multidisciplinary teams including traffic, roadway, rail, and communications.
- Prepare and contribute to technical proposals, fee estimates, and pursuit strategies.
- Support business development efforts and maintain strong client relationships with municipal agencies.
- Ensure compliance with applicable state, local, and federal transportation standards.
Qualifications
- Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field, plus 8 years of relevant traffic engineering and/or ITS experience.
- Preferred qualifications: 12+ years of related ITS and traffic engineering experience, Professional Engineer (PE) license in the state of hire, or ability to obtain within 6 months.

- The offered rate of compensation will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location.
- The range for this position is $115,000 to $170,000 per year.
