Itinerant Teacher - Early Intervention
An Itinerant Teacher position within the Office of Early Childhood Services – Early Intervention at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit, providing services to children ages 3-5 years old.
Qualifications
- Valid PA certification in Special Education PK-12, PK-8, or N-12 required.
- Additional PA certification in Early Childhood PK-4 preferred.
- Experience with younger special needs students.
- Current police, child abuse, and FBI Fingerprint clearances required.
- Valid Driver's License and ability to travel to locations throughout Montgomery County, PA.
- Clearance as an MA provider by the Commonwealth of PA and federal government (conducted by MCIU upon hire).
Responsibilities
- Deliver direct and indirect service to Early Intervention (EI) students.
- Collaborate and communicate with educational partners regarding specialized instructions.
- Develop, revise, implement, and/or monitor student progress on IEP goals.
- Provide case management for students identified with developmental delays requiring services.
- Facilitate IEP meetings and update revisions to IEPs.
- Write progress notes and contribute to re-evaluation reports.
- Finalize, revise, and forward IEPs to families within timelines.
- Complete weekly schedules and student updates via Itinerant Time Tracker (ITT).
- Attend monthly staff meetings and "I" day activities as determined by the EI calendar.
Location
The Montgomery County Intermediate Unit is located in Norristown, PA and services children throughout Montgomery County, PA. Our Early Intervention Program is split along school district lines into four regions within Montgomery County: West, Central, North, and East. Locations would be discussed during the interview process.

Schedule
Monday-Friday, 7.5 hours/day, 12-months (194 days/year).
Pay
- Bachelor's: $56,694/year
- Master's: $68,008/year
Placement on salary schedule based on experience and/or education beyond the Master's Degree.
