Italian postdoctoral fellowships funded by the Jean Monnet program

The Robert Schuman Centre for Advanced Studies (RSCAS) of the European University Institute (EUI) in Florence, Italy, offers Jean Monnet Postdoctoral Fellowships to support postdoctoral researchers studying topics related to European integration and the EU.

Benefits

• Monthly stipend (base rate: €1,750), adjusted if supplemental income is obtained.
• Household grant of up to €300 per month for fellows with a living partner in Florence, provided the total monthly income does not exceed €2,000.
• Dependent payment of €200 per month for each dependent child residing with the fellow in Florence.
• Travel expenses up to €1,200 for economy-class airfare or first-class rail (auto travel reimbursed on the same basis), covering incoming and outgoing trips. Additional expenses may be approved in exceptional cases.

Requirements

• Open to applicants from all countries.
• Candidates must have received their Ph.D. more than five years before the fellowship start date (September 1).
• A Ph.D. in a related discipline is required prior to the fellowship’s initiation.
• The research project must address issues pertaining to European integration and the EU.
• Fellows must relocate to Florence, Italy, for the duration of the fellowship.
• Proficiency in English is required, as it is the primary language of communication and instruction at the EUI.
• Candidates must not have received funding for a comparable research topic from another source during the fellowship period.
