About the role
We are seeking an Italian Teacher for a one-to-one general language course in Kansas City, MO (64113). The student is a lower-intermediate adult (45–55) who grew up hearing Italian (Sicilian) from immigrant grandparents and wants to improve conversational skills, particularly sentence conjugation. The course totals 32 hours, with two-hour sessions once per week. The schedule is flexible but may initially target Friday afternoons between 2–3 pm, with the ability to adjust weekly. The start date is September 1, 2026.
Responsibilities
- Deliver customized, one-to-one Italian lessons tailored to the student’s lower-intermediate level and goals.
- Focus on improving conversational fluency, especially sentence conjugation and dialogue.
- Adapt session timing weekly based on mutual availability.
Requirements
- Native Italian speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
- Experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
- Valid work permit/visa for the United States (visa sponsorship not available).
- Live within 20 miles of Kansas City, MO (64113).
Pay
Hourly rate is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.
Schedule
- Freelance, part-time position.
- Two-hour sessions once per week, with flexible timing (potentially Friday afternoons, 2–3 pm).
- Ability to adjust schedule weekly as needed.
