We are seeking a full-time Information Technology Specialist -- Technical Product Manager to work for Platform One under the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) in the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) at JBSA in San Antonio, TX.

About the Role

In this position, you will serve as a Technical Product Manager responsible for aligning and prioritizing your team’s work to meet objectives at the program, Air Force, and DoD levels. You'll collaborate with or lead a scrum team to schedule and track work, ensuring continuous delivery of software while maintaining a safe work environment. Responsibilities include defining software acceptance criteria, developing DevSecOps processes, and creating software automations. You will also address concerns or conflicts, provide feedback on contractor performance, and contribute to technical requirements, program roadmaps, and industry best practices.

Depending on the type of position (competitive/excepted) you are selected for, you will be required to serve a 1-year probationary period or 2-year trial period. This position is a Defense Civilian Intelligence Personnel System (DCIPS) position aligned under authorities of Section 1601, Chapter 83 of Title 10, United States Code and DoD Instruction 1400.25-V3007.

Responsibilities

  • Align and prioritize team work to meet program, Air Force, and DoD-level objectives.
  • Collaborate with or lead a scrum team to schedule and track work, ensuring continuous software delivery.
  • Define software acceptance criteria and develop DevSecOps processes.
  • Create software automations and address concerns or conflicts within the team.
  • Provide feedback on contractor performance.
  • Contribute to technical requirements, program roadmaps, and industry best practices.

Requirements

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • This is a designated Drug Testing Position.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Security Clearance.
  • Must sign a non-disclosure agreement.
  • Must obtain and maintain the required level of Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) certification within 9 months of assigned duties.
  • Must obtain and maintain the required Information Assurance Certification within six months of assignment.
  • Must file a Confidential Financial Disclosure report upon appointment and annually thereafter.

Qualifications

  • Skills in DevOps, DevSecOps, software development, containerization, Agile, Kubernetes, and AWS.
  • Ability to develop user personas, use cases, and value stream mapping of IT systems and intermediate users.
  • Understanding of IT systems and software to evaluate new security methods, assess project feasibility, and ensure compatibility with existing technology.
  • Experience with containerized application deployment and CI/CD pipeline architecture across multiple customer development teams.
  • Knowledge of DoD and Air Force policies, guidelines, directives, and techniques related to software and technology system platforms.
  • Advanced technical knowledge of software and digital technology systems (cyber, cloud, platform, data, and/or artificial intelligence).
  • Knowledge of technology systems analysis, applications software concepts, functions, techniques, and capabilities to evaluate new IT security methods, design, test, debug, and maintain information systems.
  • Ability to identify requirements for contracting and budget proposals for IT acquisitions.

Pay

Base salary range: $132,751 to $181,428. Recruitment, retention, and relocation incentives may be available.
