IT Systems Engineer
About the role
We are seeking an IT Systems Engineer to administer and scale core IT platforms including Google Workspace, JAMF, Microsoft Intune/Azure AD, Okta, and CrowdStrike. This hands-on role ensures secure, reliable, and efficient IT services across the organization, partnering closely with Security and IT leadership while maintaining a security-first posture.
Responsibilities
- Systems Architecture & Administration
- Design, implement, and maintain scalable IT architecture for Google Workspace, JAMF, Microsoft Intune, Azure Active Directory, Okta, and CrowdStrike Falcon.
- Own system configurations, integrations, upgrades, and lifecycle management.
- Partner with Security and IT leadership on tooling selection, architecture decisions, and roadmap planning.
- Identity, Endpoint & Security Management
- Manage Okta SSO, MFA, user lifecycle workflows, and SaaS application integrations.
- Administer Azure AD users, groups, conditional access policies, and role-based access controls.
- Deploy, manage, and maintain CrowdStrike Falcon across macOS and Windows endpoints.
- Monitor endpoint security posture, investigate alerts, and coordinate response actions.
- Ensure adherence to security best practices, least-privilege access, and compliance standards.
- Endpoint Management
- Deploy, manage, and support macOS, iOS, and Windows devices using JAMF and Microsoft Intune.
- Automate device provisioning, patching, compliance checks, and security enforcement.
- Troubleshoot endpoint hardware, OS, application, and security agent issues.
- Support & Operations
- Provide Tier 2/3 support for identity, endpoint, workspace, and security platforms.
- Serve as an escalation point for complex IT and endpoint security incidents.
- Create and maintain documentation for systems, configurations, processes, and SOPs.
- Participate in on-call rotations or after-hours support as required.
- Automation & Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to automate IT and security workflows to reduce manual effort.
- Continuously improve system reliability, security posture, and end-user experience.
- Support audits, security reviews, and incident response activities.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of experience in IT systems engineering, systems administration, or a related role.
- Hands-on experience administering:
- Google Workspace
- JAMF
- Microsoft Intune and Azure Active Directory
- Okta
- CrowdStrike Falcon
- Experience supporting macOS and Windows endpoint environments.
- Strong understanding of identity management, endpoint security, and modern IT architectures.
- Proven troubleshooting, documentation, and incident response skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working in zero trust or security-first IT environments.
- Scripting or automation experience (e.g., Bash, PowerShell, Python).
- Familiarity with SIEM tools, security alerting, or endpoint telemetry.
- Experience in fast-growing, startup, or highly regulated environments.
- Relevant certifications (Google, JAMF, Microsoft, Okta, CrowdStrike) are a plus.
