About the role

The IT Support Technician/Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) is a shared service supporting both enterprise-wide IT infrastructure and programs as they relate to all applicable classified federal, contractual, customer, and company requirements. In this role, you will provide hands-on IT support and be responsible for maintaining and securing end-user network systems, as well as ensuring the security of isolated, mission-critical networks. You will serve as the Information Systems Security Officer for these networks, requiring practical skills in troubleshooting, system diagram creation, and adherence to government guidelines.

This position requires 3+ years of hands-on IT experience, including break/fix troubleshooting, and a DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

IT Support Technician

  • Provide hands-on, break/fix support in a Microsoft Server and workstation environment for end-users.
  • Perform preventative maintenance and monitoring of hardware (desktops, laptops, tablets, AV equipment, and peripherals) and software, ensuring timely updates and upgrades.
  • Support manufacturing applications (e.g., CATIA v.5, ENOVIA, Verisurf, Mastercam).
  • Troubleshoot and resolve printer/copier issues, coordinating with vendors as necessary.
  • Complete and document support tickets accurately and efficiently, tracking issues and resolutions.
  • Manage user accounts, including password resets, group memberships, and file share access.
  • Ensure the security and integrity of user environments at both corporate and remote locations.
  • Provide ongoing end-user support across the organization, ensuring all employees have access to the IT resources they need.
  • Assist in compliance with company IT policies and handle any identified risks that could impact business operations.
  • Maintain comprehensive IT documentation, including installation notes and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with the Corporate IT team on enterprise-wide projects and implementations.
  • Perform additional duties as directed by management.

Information Systems Security Officer

  • Serve as the designated ISSO for isolated, mission-critical networks, ensuring they remain secure and compliant.
  • Assist in the development, implementation, and enforcement of security policies that safeguard sensitive data and systems.
  • Create and maintain System Security Plans (SSPs), Continuous Monitoring (ConMon) processes, and Plan of Action and Milestones (POA&M) documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments, vulnerability scans, and penetration testing to identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities.
  • Investigate and respond to security incidents, coordinating efforts with incident response teams.
  • Create, update, and deliver cybersecurity training to end users, covering critical security topics and best practices.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations (e.g., NIST, GDPR) and government guidelines for information security.
  • Develop and maintain system diagrams to document network architecture and security measures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3+ years of hands-on experience as an IT Support Technician, Cybersecurity, or IT Security Specialist.
  • Proven experience managing Windows environments, including system administration, patching, and break/fix resolution.
  • Working knowledge of network security principles, protocols, and best practices.
  • Experience serving as an ISSO or performing similar responsibilities in a secure or regulated IT environment.
  • Practical experience creating system/network diagrams and ensuring compliance with governmental security guidelines (e.g., NIST).
  • Familiarity with security frameworks, risk management processes, and incident response procedures.
  • Relevant certifications are required, such as Security+, CISSP, GIAC, or CCNA Security.

This position requires a government Secret security clearance and U.S. citizenship for ITAR compliance.

  • Maintains confidentiality and handles sensitive information with discretion and accuracy.

Work Conditions

  • Indoor, temperature-controlled production and office environment.
  • Standard work schedule; overtime may be necessary for meeting deadlines, required travel, and emergent conditions.
  • Travel up to 20% of the time may be required.
  • Light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds.
  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer, with repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.
