IT Support Technician
About the role
The IT Department at State Technical College of Missouri is seeking a skilled and motivated IT Support Technician to join their team. This position will assist in maintaining the campus server environment, both on-premises and in the cloud.
Responsibilities
- Assist in actively maintaining the campus server environment
- Help lead the charge on existing and upcoming projects supported by IT
- Perform routine maintenance and repair on physical server and cloud-based environment
- Help maintain documentation for all campus servers
- Configure and maintain virtual machines and provide necessary security updates to support critical systems
- Install and configure computer software, including but not limited to, operating systems and applications such as Windows server
- Provide technical support for classrooms, conference rooms, offices, labs, and any other spaces on the College campus
- Provide end-user hardware/software support and training
- Cookordinate/escalate technology issues with the IT Help Desk, Network Services, and other IT departments
- Document changes with proper documentation within campus IT ticketing system
- Provide IT support at occasional evening and weekend high-profile events and meetings
Requirements
- Minimum of 5 years of work experience relevant to the position
- Experience working with and troubleshooting servers and virtual servers
- Experience with using various programs and server management tools, scripts, and batch files
- Excellent interpersonal skills with a focus on customer service
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment with all levels of management and on independent projects
- Able to use creative and out-of-the-box thinking as well as standard industry methods for providing technical support
- Ability to operate test equipment, lift heavy loads up to 50 lbs, and drive a motor vehicle
Qualifications
- Previous experience working in technology support in education or higher education is preferred
- Strong networking fundamentals
- Experience in scripting and PowerShell commands

State Technical College of Missouri offers a competitive salary starting at $50,000, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, and paid time off.
Pay
$50,000 - $60,000 annually
Schedule
Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
