IT Support Technician
About the role
IT Support Technician located in Detroit, Michigan (Onsite). The IT Technician is responsible for providing end-user support and ensuring the reliable operation of IT systems within a refining environment. This is a customer-facing role based in a busy office, focused on a walk-up support center delivering in-person IT assistance. The position involves working directly with personnel to resolve technology issues and requires comfort with a refinery setting, adhering to all site safety procedures. Responsibilities
- Provide in-person troubleshooting for laptops, desktops, mobile devices, peripherals, and common applications.
- Support Tech Café services, including consumable replacements and hardware swaps.
- Deliver clear and professional communication while resolving issues.
- Escalate and document complex issues as required.
- Install, maintain, and support field IT systems, including specialized laboratory PCs.
- Configure and manage Microsoft Windows operating systems.
- Perform software installations and updates.
- Contribute to the knowledge base and process improvement documentation.
Requirements
- A minimum of 3 years of IT support experience is required.
Qualifications
- Experience with ServiceNow is preferred.
Skills
- Proficient in supporting Apple iOS and mobile devices.
- End-user hardware support for Dell and HP PCs.
- Familiarity with the Windows 11 operating system.
- Knowledge of the Office 365 Suite.
- Experience with application, networked printer, and network troubleshooting.
