About the role

The IT Supervisor II (IT Sup II) manages and directs the day-to-day activities, operations, initiatives, and IT acquisitions of the IT Purchasing team. This includes overseeing complex and major information technology hardware, software, systems, services, and supplies through lease, rental, or purchase within the Department of Justice's (DOJ's) delegated purchasing authority.

Responsibilities

  • Directly manages various procurement specialists and administrative support staff.
  • Provides a wide variety of representative, consultative, and analytical support relative to various administrative and technical support activities including plan, budget, acquisition, personnel management, and program evaluation.
  • Participates in and successfully completes ongoing training associated with post-award activities.
  • Ensures the successful acquisition of DOJ IT procurements, purchases, and contracts through the development and implementation of enterprise-wide standardized contract and procurement policies, standards, practices, processes, and reporting procedures through the various procurement and contract lifecycle phases (initiation, planning, execution, management, review and acceptance, and/or contract close-out).
  • Provides leadership, motivation, and coaching, removes roadblocks, and inspires the team to do their best work.

Requirements

The ideal candidate should have a bachelor's degree in business administration, public administration, information technology, or a related field, combined with at least 4 years of progressively responsible experience in procurement, contracting, or a related field. Experience in managing a team and providing leadership is highly desirable.

Qualifications

Knowledge of procurement and contract management principles and practices, including contract negotiation, award, and administration. Ability to develop and implement standardized contract and procurement policies, standards, practices, processes, and reporting procedures. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with procurement software such as SAP, Oracle, or other relevant systems. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with a diverse group of individuals.

Pay

$8,504.00 - $11,395.00
