IT Security Technical Analyst

About the role

New Hampshire Electric Cooperative (NHEC) is seeking an IT Security Technical Analyst to help protect the critical technology systems that support our employees, members, and communities across New Hampshire. In this role, you'll work closely with our Director of IT and serve as a key member of our Information Security team, helping to identify threats, strengthen security controls, respond to incidents, and advance cybersecurity best practices throughout the organization.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and investigate security alerts from SIEM, vulnerability management, DLP, MDR, and other security platforms
• Respond to phishing incidents and enhance email security defenses
• Support vulnerability remediation and implementation of CIS security controls
• Participate in incident response planning, tabletop exercises, and cyber investigations
• Conduct security awareness training for employees
• Administer and optimize security technologies and Microsoft 365 security controls
• Collaborate across IT, Operations Technology, and business teams to reduce risk and strengthen NHEC's security posture

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in a technical IT role (or equivalent experience)
• Knowledge of Windows administration, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, IAM, patching, and troubleshooting
• Understanding of cybersecurity fundamentals and network administration
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Security+, cybersecurity certifications, scripting, automation, Python, Git, or Ansible experience are a plus
