IT Security Manager
About the role
The Manager of Information Technology—Security leads a team of security analysts and works closely with other members of the information security leadership team to develop a comprehensive and mature information security program. The Information Security Manager works with other information services leaders to select and deploy technical controls to meet security requirements. Will also help define processes and standards to assure that appropriate security configurations are maintained.
Responsibilities
- Work with technology leadership and information security management team to on strategic and tactical planning including setting priorities, coordinating and reporting program status, and issue resolution.
- Staff supervision, management and coordination of IT Security efforts and operations.
- Work cooperatively across information services, and Albany Med, to coordinate plans and activities including the implementation of security projects and solutions.
- Provide weekly and monthly reports on information security activities, including incident response, access provisioning and termination activities.
- Forecast future resource utilization and requirements.
- Identify areas where existing policies, procedures and activities require change, or where new ones need to be developed, especially regarding future applications or technical initiatives.
- Proactively define and recommend required policies and procedures.
- Participate with management in the budget development process.
- Maintain staff on-call support schedule and assure support is provided as required.
Requirements
This is an operational position with frequent customer interaction. This manager will have strong technical understanding of networking principles, security technologies, and Microsoft Windows security principles.
Qualifications
- Discrete responsibilities for information security manager positions may include any of the following: information security operations, information engineering, information security risk management, Disaster Recovery/ Business Continuity, Project Management Office (PMO), IT capital planning.
Skills
