IT Security Business Analyst

Location: Overland Park, Kansas, United States (hybrid in Kansas City, Missouri) – 12-month contract role.

About the role

This Business Analyst will support IT security initiatives throughout the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), partnering with stakeholders to gather, analyze, and document business and technical requirements. The role focuses on security-related projects including Identity and Access Management (IAM), data loss prevention, and broader data security efforts.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate requirements gathering sessions with both technical and non-technical teams.
• Translate business needs into clear and actionable documentation.
• Create mock-up reports, process flows, and swim lane diagrams to support solution design and process improvement initiatives.
• Drive collaboration across multiple teams to ensure project objectives are met.
• Support stakeholders across various time zones, including occasional early morning or evening meetings.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or equivalent experience.
• Experience working as a business analyst in full SDLC for software projects, primarily in IT security.
• Broad security knowledge, with projects related to Identity and Access Management (IAM), data loss prevention, and data security.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills.
• Ability to thrive in a large, multi-team technology environment.
