IT Quality Engineer

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Play a hands-on role in testing of all primary Policy and supplementary applications, including critical third-party integrations such as Hyland OnBase Workflow.
  • Design, write, and maintain automated test scripts.
  • Run automated test cases and analyze the results to ensure the application meets the requirements.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
  • Collaborate with offshore and onsite teammates to develop and execute effective long-term automation test plans and regression suites.
  • Participate in the overall test planning & execution of Policy team testing objectives (test planning, design, execution, defect management, and reporting).
  • Collaborate with onsite engineers and offshore testing partners to develop and execute test scenarios to determine data quality and integrity.
  • Engage directly with business users during User Acceptance Testing to facilitate validation and troubleshoot user feedback.
  • Collaborate with peers and management to develop process standards and/or enhancements to prevent the recurrence of defects/bugs.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle.
  • Participate in troubleshooting sessions with development teams for timely turnaround of critical issues.
  • Understanding quality metrics and implementing measurements to determine test effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Adhering to best practices in analysis & documentation.

Qualifications, Skills And Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years of IT Quality Engineering experience or experience in a similar field.
  • Experience in Test Automation tools and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong knowledge of at least one programming language.
  • Knowledge of best practices in test automation framework.
  • Experience in QE roles supporting complex systems development or packaged software implementation efforts.
  • Hands-on style with strong problem-solving abilities and a keen attention to detail.
  • Strong conceptual thinking skills, creativity, and flexibility.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with diverse executives, subject matter experts, and vendor resources.
  • A strong understanding of the E2E software development process and system development lifecycle, including E2E testing.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize and track multiple deliverables.
  • Experience working in Agile or waterfall projects.
  • Team collaboration: within QE, the broader IT team, and internal business stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge in creating and maintaining an automated test suite, including UI and API, is a plus.
  • Working experience of Automation Tools, such as Katalon, Cypress, Selenium, NeoLoad, etc.
  • Some business background in Commercial P&C Insurance Underwriting or Claims functions is an advantage.
  • Prior experience with the Duck Creek Platform or equivalent P&C system is an advantage.
  • ISO expertise is a plus.
  • Knowledge of defect management tools such as Jira, DevOps, Quality Center, or any other defect tool.
