IT Project Manager, Requirements Lead

About the Role

The Red Gate Group is seeking an IT Project Manager with a requirements engineering focus to support a Department of Defense intelligence customer. The role owns requirements definition, repositories, and end‑to‑end traceability for a newly established joint program office, alongside standard project‑management artifacts. You will develop functional requirements based on customer needs and specifications, define the methodologies used to determine them, and ensure visibility of requirements definition and coordination across the program.

Responsibilities

• Own requirements definition, repositories, and end‑to‑end traceability for the joint program office.
• Develop functional requirements based on customer needs and specifications.
• Define and apply methodologies for determining requirements.
• Build and maintain requirement repositories.
• Create traceability from requirements through testing to implementation.
• Guide the development of test cases and test procedures that verify the requirements.
• Prepare project plans, scoping documents, and status reporting to keep requirements definition and coordination visible across the program.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in requirements engineering or IT project management, including recent experience within the last 2 years (this experience requirement is firm and cannot be met through education or certifications).
• Active TS/SCI clearance with a current CI polygraph.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in a related field, or one of the following in its place:
  • Associate’s degree in a related field plus 4 additional years of relevant experience,
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field plus 2 additional years of relevant experience,
  • 6 additional years of relevant experience.

  The additional years used in place of the degree are on top of the 8‑year experience requirement above, not counted within it.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with requirements management tools and requirements traceability matrices.
