Position Overview
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the accountable owner for successful project completion — on time, within budget, and error-free.
- Manage the planning and execution of project team members across the full project lifecycle, from concept through prototype, pilot, implementation, and follow-up.
- Own the project charter, communications plan, metrics, reporting, and overall project plan and budget.
- Develop and maintain project schedules using professional project management tools and techniques, including tracking charts, checklists, and scheduling software, delegating appropriately across the team.
- Lead change management efforts and drive timely decision-making, maintaining schedules that reflect detailed change information such as affected components, functions, timelines, and cost.
- Partner with individual contributors across multiple functional disciplines and with customers to establish and manage completion dates.
- Monitor project progress, proactively discuss issues with affected teams, and ensure appropriate personnel are informed of problems and remediation steps.
- Recommend solutions and alternatives based on the nature and complexity of issues that arise.
- Guide teams through the creation of project charters, including aligning scope, ways of working, and overall project structure.
Team Collaboration & Scope
- Partner with engineering and technical product owners on each project.
- Manage multiple, multifunctional teams spanning business and engineering disciplines.
- Carry a workload of one large project or two to three concurrent projects, with annual volume ranging from 8-10 projects depending on Agile sprint frequency.
- Operate within a challenging to very challenging complexity environment.
- Work in a hybrid role requiring three days per week onsite at the candidate's choice of our Peoria, IL or Chicago, IL office.
Requirements
- Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university plus 10+ years of relevant experience; OR
- Master's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Engineering, Business) plus 8+ years of relevant experience.
- Direct Project Management Experience:
- Leading software engineering teams within an Agile Software Development methodology, in partnership with business stakeholders and product managers.
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams to alignment.
- Consistent track record of tenures of 18 months or longer in prior roles.
- Project Management Fundamentals:
- Experience with Azure DevOps (formerly VSTS) and Confluence.
- Working knowledge of Power BI.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, MS PowerPoint, and MS Project.
- Large-Scale Organizational Change Management:
- Proven experience leading large-scale organizational change management.
- Strategic Thinking & Leadership:
- Strong strategic thinking capabilities, with the ability to drive alignment and set direction.
Preferred Qualifications
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), PMP, SAFe, and/or Change Management certification.
- Six Sigma Black Belt certification.
- Prior Scrum Master experience in addition to core project management experience.
- Experience working within large, enterprise-level organizations.
- Experience with eCommerce and/or service-related applications or projects.

Salary Expectations
125,000-130,000 per annual
