IT Project Manager

About the role

We are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager with a strong background in enterprise implementation planning, technical integration, and coordination across a DoD-classified enterprise network. The ideal candidate will have proven experience delivering complex projects in secure environments, collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams, and driving structured implementation activities from planning through sustainment.

Responsibilities

• Manages the direction of a project through the design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives.
• Defines requirements and plans project lifecycle deployment.
• Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
• Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
• Maintain structured project documentation, including charters, plans, briefings, risk registers, change requests, and executive status reports.
• Monitor progress against baselines and proactively identify risks, issues, and dependency conflicts across multiple enterprise workstreams.
• Ensure all project actions comply with DoD cybersecurity, accreditation, and configuration management requirements.
• Serve as a liaison between technical teams and leadership, translating complex technical considerations into clear operational impacts.
• Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking, analysis and reporting.
• Produce top-quality products for the customer.

Required skills include strong problem solving, good communication, ability to research and choose the best technically feasible solution that meets customer requirements, experience with agile or other project management methodologies, a collaborative mindset, proactive approach to anticipating project needs, and flexibility when project requirements evolve.

Requirements

• Education: High School with 6 - 9 years (or commensurate experience).
• Clearance: TS/SCI.
• Certification: DOD 8140 IAT II (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CySA+, CND).
• Experience managing multiple, complex, technical projects.
• Experience planning and estimating work requirements.
• Familiarity with DoD lifecycle processes, requirements management frameworks, and enterprise architecture principles.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively across technical and non-technical teams.
• Demonstrated experience creating or managing enterprise implementation plans for large technical deployments.
• Strong understanding of enterprise networks, service integration, incident/service management, and secure IT operations.
• Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Confluence).

Preferred Skills and Experience

• Technical background in networking and systems.
• PMP or Agile certification (PMI-ACP).
• Experience with large-scale modernization efforts or cloud transition planning.
• Knowledge of cybersecurity requirements, RMF processes, and DoD architecture frameworks.
• Experience working directly with PMOs or leading cross-functional technical teams.
• Background supporting highly regulated or classified environments such as AFSCI.
• Experience with enterprise technical integration, transition planning, or large-scale modernization programs.
• Experience with DOD Networks (NIPR, SIPR, JWICS).
