About the role
The IT Program & Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful delivery of complex technology initiatives that support strategic business and technology objectives. This role oversees both individual IT projects and broader programs comprised of multiple related projects, ensuring alignment with organizational priorities and effective collaboration across business and IT teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead and manage IT programs made up of multiple related projects.
- Establish program objectives, governance, milestones, and integrated delivery plans.
- Coordinate dependencies, critical path activities, and cross-project impacts.
- Provide program governance, executive communication, and reporting.
- Manage program risks and issues while ensuring alignment with business goals.
- Lead program-level change management and organizational readiness.
- Manage end-to-end IT project delivery from initiation to closeout.
- Develop and maintain project documentation, including charters, schedules, budgets, and plans.
- Facilitate project planning, execution, and issue resolution.
- Manage project scope changes through established governance processes.
- Track project financials and coordinate deployment activities.
- Serve as a trusted partner to business sponsors and IT leaders.
- Translate business objectives into clear delivery plans.
- Establish delivery approaches using Agile, waterfall, or hybrid methodologies.
- Monitor delivery performance and escalate issues appropriately.
- Ensure compliance with IT portfolio, architecture, security, and change management processes.
- Promote consistent project and program management practices.
- Develop resource plans and manage vendor relationships.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of experience managing IT projects with increasing responsibility and complexity.
- Experience managing programs with multiple related IT projects or workstreams.
- Strong understanding of project and program management principles, methodologies, and governance.
- Experience working in hybrid delivery environments.
