About the Role

Product Owners are responsible for defining requirements, assisting with the overall product roadmap and vision, and driving value at the team level. Product Owners work closely with teams and are the “voice of the customer,” ensuring the needs of the end-user are incorporated into the product from design to deployment. They author technical user stories to support day-to-day development of new features and capabilities. The Product Owner partners with product management and stakeholders to translate product strategy into a detailed, prioritized backlog of user stories and requirements that translate into system solutions and processes. They collaborate with Agile delivery teams to implement, measure, and learn from improvements. The Product Owner manages execution of the value stream product features and delivery roadmap for the Order Management Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Defines and communicates the minimum viable product (MVP) for a given application/product and the supporting release plans.
  • Collaborates with Product Managers and technology stakeholders (e.g., Systems Architects) to define new or enhanced product requirements and functionality.
  • Supports the prioritization of feature enablers defined by Architects within the product roadmap.
  • Prepares estimates for user stories within the product backlog in collaboration with the team.
  • Prioritizes the sprint backlog (as part of the sprint planning ceremony) based on sequencing and ranking of features in the product roadmap.
  • Refines product requirements based on input obtained through sprint showcases and demos.
  • Conducts formal review and acceptance of user stories implemented by a team within a sprint.
  • Drives the execution of user acceptance testing (UAT) activities with support from business and technology team members.
  • Performs functional reviews as part of sprint demos and showcases alongside the Product Manager and Delivery Manager.
  • Provides technical guidance and expertise to the development team, ensuring products are built to the highest standards.
  • Participates in technical design discussions and makes informed decisions about architectural patterns, technologies, and implementation details.
  • Pursues incremental delivery by identifying ways to meet business goals and end-user needs through frequent, measurable enhancements.
  • Collaborates with Delivery Managers to ensure work managed by teams achieves the highest value relative to business priorities.
  • Supports business strategy by forming a backlog of features and user stories for use by the Agile delivery team.
  • Articulates requirements for each user story with detailed acceptance criteria.
  • Ensures all requirements support the business need, fulfill goals and objectives, and meet stakeholder needs.

Requirements

  • 5+ years’ experience as a technical Product Owner.
  • Proven experience in Software Development on an Agile team.
  • Proven experience creating documentation for communication with varied audiences.
  • Deep understanding of business requirements elicitation for specific programs/projects.
  • Proficient in User Story and Acceptance Criteria formulation.
  • Expertise in utilizing standard documentation tools/utilities.
  • Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong work ethic, demonstrated attention to detail, excellent time management, and organizational skills.
  • Product knowledge and process improvement skills with a demonstrated ability to propose solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (recommended).
  • Agile Product Owner Certification (recommended).
  • SAFe 5.0 Certification (recommended).
  • Familiarity with Microservices Architecture, REST APIs, CI/CD pipelines, cloud concepts, and SDLC (Requirements Analysis, Design, Installation, Development, Testing, and Deployment).
  • Ability to work both independently and within a team environment.
  • Ability to listen to and understand business needs.
  • Proficient in Google Workspace applications, including Sheets, Docs, Slides, and Gmail.

Pay

  • Level 1: $90,000 - $115,000
  • Level 2: $105,000 - $135,000
  • Level 3: $130,000 - $160,000
  • Level 4: $140,000 - $200,000
