About the role
If you're the kind of Product Owner who gets energized by turning a messy backlog into a clear roadmap — and you'd rather be hands-on with the ERP that runs a company's day-to-day than sit three layers removed from it — this one's worth a look. You'll own the backlog for core business systems at a recognized consumer accessories brand going through active operational modernization, with real budget and leadership attention behind the mandate.
Responsibilities
- Own and drive the product backlog for one or more core business systems, including the ERP platform
- Work directly with business stakeholders to understand how they work, spot inefficiencies, and translate opportunities into clear requirements and user stories
- Prioritize work based on business impact, urgency, and delivery capacity
- Lead requirement-gathering sessions and write acceptance criteria a dev team can execute without back-and-forth
- Coordinate and lead UAT — test planning, stakeholder sign-off, defect triage
- Drive process improvement initiatives, particularly around ERP and core business system usage
- Own release planning end to end, coordinating timing, scope, and stakeholder communication
- Work directly with external vendors and implementation partners to keep delivery on time and on spec
- Define, track, and report on KPIs that demonstrate the impact of what you ship
Requirements
- Proven Product Owner experience in an IT or ERP environment, with hands-on understanding of how business users actually work inside ERP systems
- A track record of writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria
- Experience managing a project end-to-end and keeping scope, timeline, and stakeholders on track
- UAT coordination and stakeholder sign-off experience
- Backlog management using Agile/Scrum or Kanban
- Experience with release planning and vendor/implementation partner coordination
- An aggressive, get-it-done attitude — someone who makes things happen rather than waiting for direction, and who's comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities
Nice to have
- Microsoft Dynamics GP experience
- Experience implementing or supporting ERP solutions (NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Dynamics, or similar)
- Jira, Azure DevOps, or Confluence
- Manufacturing, retail, or consumer products background
- CSPO or equivalent certification
This is a fully onsite role in the Salt Lake City metro area — no remote or hybrid flexibility.
