About the Role
The IT Product Manager is responsible for driving the success of our company’s software products, delivering value to internal and external users through software development. As a product owner, you will gather business requirements, manage user expectations, and provide vision to the development team to produce effective product features. You will focus the development team to ensure execution of the roadmap and delivery of new features.
Responsibilities
- Define product vision and maintain product roadmap
- Foster strong relationships with internal stakeholders and facilitate regular communication to understand user needs, ensuring features and products align with business objectives
- Understand complex business processes to gather feature requirements from users of diverse backgrounds
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify opportunities for new products or enhancements
- Turn product features into epics and story backlogs, breaking feature requirements into user-centric work items
- Collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize product initiatives based on business value and feasibility
- Plan, prioritize, and manage delivery of backlogs, ensuring the team has an adequate number of prepared tasks for every Sprint; review process and work items with the development team
- Manage ongoing priority and backlog in a quickly evolving environment
- Ensure quality of delivery by actively participating in the release process
- Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT)
- Coordinate releases with the development team and relevant stakeholders, including marketing and customer communication
- Report on progress to stakeholders and IT management
- Communicate changes to users and educate the training team and helpdesk
- Oversee product health; define and track key performance metrics to measure product success and identify areas for improvement
- Serve as an escalation point for issues and concerns about the product
- Serve as liaison between the business and development team for integrations and M&As
- Conduct resource management
- Perform additional duties as requested by management
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer systems, business, marketing, or a related field, or a minimum of 5 years of equivalent work experience
- Product management certification, such as Certified Product Manager (CPM), is desirable
- 3+ years’ experience as a software product owner
- Experience leading cross-functional teams with Scrum methodology
Skills
- Product management best practices and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Lean)
- Market research, customer discovery, and data-driven decision-making
- Knowledge of relevant industry trends and competitive landscape
- Strong use of project planning and management tools (MS Office: Project, Visio, Excel, PowerPoint, and SharePoint; Smart Sheets, VLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, Graphs, etc.)
- Familiarity with product management tools (e.g., Azure DevOps, Lucid Charts, roadmapping tools)
- Effective oral and written communication
