IT Portfolio Manager

About the role

IT Business Consultant focusing on IT Portfolio Strategy, IT Finance, Governance, Executive Decision Support, and ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM). 8+ month assignment with potential extension or conversion based on performance and budget. Hybrid work arrangement in Roseville, CA or Spring, TX.

Responsibilities

The Strategic Portfolio Manager (SPM) manages the planning, execution, and governance of the IT project and product portfolio, ensuring initiatives align with strategic goals, deliver business value, and are appropriately resourced and funded. Acts as a key liaison between business leaders, IT teams, and Finance to drive transparency, prioritization, and value realization across the enterprise portfolio.

Requirements / Qualifications

• Senior IT Portfolio/Technology Investment professional with strong IT financial‑management experience.
• Ability to connect technology strategy, funding, governance, and execution to support executive portfolio decisions.
• Ideally from a large enterprise with ServiceNow SPM experience.
• Hands‑on ownership of budgets, forecasts, actuals, variance analysis, investment planning, and financial reconciliation.
• Experience managing a portfolio of technology investments (prioritization, demand, funding, capacity, risk, dependencies, value).
• Real hands‑on experience with ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (portfolio, demand, investment, financial data).
• Knowledge of portfolio governance, Lean Portfolio Management/SAFe, investment prioritization, TBM/product funding, or portfolio operating‑model.
