About the role
As a Network Engineer, you will be part of the IT Network Engineering team, responsible for managing and maintaining our organization's network infrastructure. You will ensure the reliability, performance, and security of our enterprise network, serving as a third line of escalation for critical commercial systems. This role offers discretion on enterprise-wide system changes and autonomy to impact change across the business. You will collaborate with global teams to develop and execute an enterprise-wide network strategy and roadmap, ensuring stakeholders have access to systems and services whenever and wherever needed.
Responsibilities
- Install, rack, cable, configure, and maintain routers, switches, firewalls, wireless, and other network devices in data center and on-premises environments.
- Monitor network performance and respond to alerts or service disruptions.
- Troubleshoot routine network issues escalated from IT support teams and provide after-hours support.
- Support vulnerability assessments and implement necessary measures to enhance network security.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network configurations and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with senior engineers on network upgrades and infrastructure improvements.
- Travel to other U.S.-based sites, and occasionally to Asia-Pacific and the U.K., to ensure project delivery, oversight, and team mentorship.
- Respond to, coordinate, and resolve after-hours events or crises.
Requirements
- Associate's degree minimum.
- Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in a Network Engineer role or equivalent experience supporting enterprise networks and switch infrastructure internationally.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience working as a network engineer supporting firewall hardware/software with a global footprint.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience working as a network engineer supporting layer 2 switching infrastructure including VLANs, trunking, and port configurations.
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience physically installing network devices, including switches, routers, and patch panels, including running, terminating, and testing cables.
- Must be a U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, or green card holder, workers granted asylum or refugee status).
- Candidates must not be a People's Republic of China national or Russian national unless also a U.S. citizen.
Qualifications
- Associate’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field and/or equivalent formal training.
- Demonstrable knowledge of IT networks, associated hardware, services, and protocols connecting on-premises, cloud, and collocated resources globally.
- Practical experience leveraging enterprise-level IT services, tools, and procedures.
- Relevant network certifications are highly desired.
- Extensive experience in network administration, with a focus on enterprise-level environments.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols, topologies, and security principles (TCP/IP, VLANs, VPN, ACLs, etc.).
- Practical experience working within a public cloud provider (Azure, AWS, etc.) and ISPs.
- Proficiency in configuring and managing network devices (routers, switches, firewalls, wireless) from leading manufacturers (Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, etc.).
- Adept skills with network monitoring and troubleshooting tools (SolarWinds, Wireshark, SNMP, etc.).
- Experience with scripting and automation, preferably using Python, Perl, or similar to support network configuration, monitoring, and operational efficiency.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Ability to document procedures and design workflows to improve workplace support.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.

Pay
The pay range for this role is $86,000 - $108,000 annually. Actual compensation within this range may vary based on the candidate’s skills, educational background, professional experience, and unique qualifications for the role.
