Key Responsibilities
- Translate Michels' AI direction and emerging capabilities into a prioritized roadmap, working closely with users to understand how they work and where AI creates genuine business leverage.
- Recruit, hire, and develop founding talent, establishing the roles, standards, and operating practices needed to grow AI capability responsibly.
- Help steward the enterprise AI program across its lifecycle, accountable for the adoption, cost, safety, and measurable value of the solutions the team delivers, with clear visibility into how AI is being used across the organization.
- Guide the delivery of practical AI solutions that solve meaningful operational problems for the business.
- Enable the organization to build and use AI confidently and safely through reusable patterns, guardrails, education, and community programs that grow enterprise AI fluency.
- Partner with data, platform, security, architecture, and governance peers to ensure AI solutions are secure, scalable, and grounded in trusted information.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent hands-on experience.
- 7+ years in software engineering, technical product management, solutions engineering, applied AI, or relevant disciplines, including 3+ years leading technical teams with accountability for hiring, coaching, and delivery.
- Hands-on experience building and governing AI solutions on the Microsoft Azure and Copilot ecosystem, or similar technologies, with sound judgment on evaluation and the safe handling of sensitive data.
- Demonstrated ability to translate business problems into practical solutions with measurable outcomes, and to drive AI adoption, enablement, and responsible cost management across a large organization.
- Strong communication and influencing skills across executive, business, and technical audiences, partnering as a credible peer.
