This role focuses on monitoring network and Web server activity for security breaches, managing file systems, and installing and maintaining Epic application deployment platforms for production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production environments. The position also involves installing and managing administrative and monitoring tools to ensure high availability and performance of the Epic system, configuring and troubleshooting integrated third-party software, applying upgrades, responding to emergencies, scripting for system management, maintaining business continuity processes, and collaborating with technical teams and the Epic vendor.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor network and Web server activity for security breaches using intrusion detection techniques.
  • Perform file system management and install/manage Epic application deployment platforms for production, reporting, disaster recovery, training, and non-production needs.
  • Install and maintain administrative and monitoring tools to ensure high availability and performance of the Epic system.
  • Assist in the configuration and troubleshooting of integrated third-party software and peripherals.
  • Apply platform and Epic upgrades/updates to production and non-production Web server components.
  • Respond to emergency and after-hours issues.
  • Write and maintain scripts to improve system management tasks.
  • Maintain and test business continuity processes.
  • Participate in change control processes for planned application and technical activities.
  • Understand performance metrics, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot issues.
  • Collaborate with technical teams and the Epic vendor to ensure proactive support and adherence to best practices.
  • Plan, design, and build stable, recoverable, and integrated database systems for efficient and secure data utilization.
  • Understand interoperability between databases and other technology stacks (e.g., performance scalability, stability, capacity planning).
  • Recommend alternate solutions and consult as a 2nd-level technical expert on specific platforms.
  • Support business-specific projects by applying expertise in the subject area and ensuring adherence to procedures and policies.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally to solve complex problems and escalate high-priority issues.
  • Leverage DevOps, Waterfall, and Agile practices to design, develop, and deliver resilient, secure, multi-channel, high-volume, high-transaction solutions.
  • Translate business and functional requirements into technical specifications for infrastructure systems.
  • Serve as a liaison with business partners, solutions, and enterprise architects to define target strategies.
  • Collaborate with IT teams (e.g., database, operations, technical support) throughout system development and implementation.
  • Develop and modify solutions by identifying technical solutions to business problems.
  • Provide consultation and technical advice on IT infrastructure planning, engineering, and architecture.
  • Review and modify technical specifications and documentation.
  • Troubleshoot complex systems and provide solutions.
  • Evaluate existing systems and recommend resources to maintain service levels.
  • Evaluate new service options and provide recommendations on feasibility and ROI.
  • Collaborate with architects and software engineers to ensure functional specifications are converted into scalable designs.
  • Verify system designs adhere to company architecture standards.
  • Drive physical architecture design for new initiatives.
  • Lead the implementation of enterprise infrastructure systems and develop detailed standards for maintenance.

Requirements

  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in planning, design, and implementation of security solutions.
  • Minimum two (2) years of experience in configuration, implementation, troubleshooting, and operation of security technologies.
  • Minimum one (1) year in a technical leadership role (with or without direct reports).
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, CIS, or related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum six (6) years of experience in an IT operations environment with technical experience in distributed technologies, systems development, and/or networking.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Two (2) years of experience working with backup tape/VTL infrastructure.
  • Two (2) years of experience working with storage management software.

Schedule

  • Full-time, standard worker location (onsite).
  • Scheduled weekly hours: 40.
  • Shift: Day (Monday–Friday, 09:00 AM–05:00 PM).

Pay

$109,400 – $141,460 per year. Actual base pay determined at offer based on labor market data, internal alignment, and candidate’s experience, education, certifications, skills, and geographic location.
