IT Infrastructure Deployment Engineer
MAG Aerospace is seeking an IT Infrastructure Deployment Engineer to support a SATCOM Program on-site at the Tobyhanna Army Depot in Tobyhanna, PA. This role involves the deployment, installation, and documentation of structured cabling and equipment racking systems.
Responsibilities
- Install, organize, and maintain computer racks, cabinets, and enclosures
- Route, terminate, label, and test copper and fiber cabling (Cat5e/Cat6/Cat6A, fiber optic)
- Perform rack-level power work, including:
- Follow industry best practices for cable management, airflow, and equipment layout
- Identify basic electrical issues such as improper grounding, overloaded circuits, or faulty power connections
- Create, update, and maintain rack layouts, cable paths, and support the modifications of drawings in AutoCAD and/or Visio
- Interpret deployment drawings, floor plans, and schematics
- Label racks, cables, and ports according to company or client standards
- Assist with equipment installation (servers, switches, patch panels, PDUs, UPS systems)
- Troubleshoot cabling and connectivity issues
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and logisticians to meet project timelines
Requirements
- Proven experience in rack and cable installation for IT, data center, or network environments
- Proficiency in AutoCAD for creating and/or assisting the deployment with updating technical drawings
- Strong electrical aptitude, particularly in low-voltage and rack-level power systems
- Knowledge of structured cabling standards
- Experience with hand tools, power tools, cable testing tools, and labeling systems
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Ability to lift and move equipment
- Relevant Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university (equivalent education and training can serve as a substitute)
- Minimum of 3 years of related experience
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must have an active DoD Secret Clearance or be eligible to obtain one (MAG will sponsor the clearance for the right candidate)
- Experience working with federal civilian or DOD personnel (desired)
The position is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to meet physical and medical requirements as needed, including compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local jurisdictional requirements.

Pay
The projected compensation range for this position is up to $110,000 (annualized USD). Salary is determined by various factors including location, education, knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, contract-specific affordability, and organizational requirements.
