IT - Information Security/Privacy Analyst I

Responsibilities

• Analyze and respond to security events and incidents from SIEM, firewalls, intrusion detection systems (IDS), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), endpoint security solutions, network access control (NAC), and other client data sources.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC) environment, or a recent college graduate with relevant industry certifications.
• Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain the required agency clearance.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to convey technical details clearly.

Skills

• Experience with Windows, Linux, or UNIX operating systems in a functional capacity.
• Proficiency with Splunk or a similar SIEM tool.
• IDS log analysis skills.
• Packet capture tools and analysis.
• Knowledge of common protocols and services (FTP, HTTP, SSH, SMB, DAP).

Schedule

Targeted second shift (12:00 – 22:00) or third shift (20:00 – 06:00) depending on staffing needs. Open, in‑person shift availability required.

Hybrid on‑site position in Rockville, MD.
