IT Engineer (Apple Ecosystem & End-User Security) - Remote (WFH)

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage Cognitive’s Apple fleet and end user help desk service requests
  • Manage Backup and Disaster Recovery, DLP, and Anti-virus for endpoints
  • Lead the configuration and management of MacBook laptops using Jamf Pro, ensuring zero-touch deployment, automated patching, and security baselining
  • Lead help desk service requests using Jira Service Management, ensuring compliance with policies, procedures, and SLA requirements
  • Design and maintain MDM policies and Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) tools to protect a remote-first workforce
  • Oversee the IT service desk, ensuring high-quality support and maintaining SLAs for hardware, software, and identity access issues
  • Manage external vendors for hardware procurement and specialized third-party Apple support

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field
  • 3–5 years in an individual contributor role managing Apple-centric enterprise environments
  • Hands-on experience with Jamf suite of tools, such as Jamf Pro, Jamf Cloud, Jamf Connect, etc.
  • Strong understanding of EDR solutions and securing macOS within a federal healthcare or civilian agency context
  • Working knowledge of HIPAA and NIST security frameworks as they apply to endpoint management
  • Able to work in a hybrid environment, coming into an office as needed, up to three times per week

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with VA, DHA, CMS, HHS, or similar federal healthcare agencies
  • Familiarity with FedRAMP Moderate or High environments
  • Certifications such as CISSP, CISM, Security+, Azure, or ITIL
  • Experience in small business or SDVOSB environments with growth-oriented responsibilities
