IT Director – Commercial Applications
Job Description
The IT Director – Commercial Applications is responsible for the strategic vision, delivery, and optimization of all technology platforms driving revenue, customer acquisition, and market growth. The position provides enterprise leadership across Commercial processes, technology, and AI-enabled capabilities, including process governance in pricing and rebate management, customer-facing systems like CRM, digital commerce, operational reporting, and customer data management. Serving as the business product owner for core commercial platforms, this leader ensures systems, data, and processes are aligned to deliver revenue growth, pricing effectiveness, customer insights, and scalable operations. The role works closely with Commercial leadership, Finance, executive stakeholders, and service line leaders to drive strategic alignment, enable data-driven decision-making, and deliver measurable business value and transformation through technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and execute the Commercial transformation and systems roadmap, including process optimization, platforms, and data governance.
- Partner with Sales, Pricing, Customer Service, Marketing, and Finance leaders to align technology solutions with business priorities.
- Drive sustained value realization from CRM, pricing, and e-commerce platforms through disciplined product ownership, governance, and continuous improvement.
- Manage cross-functional project delivery, including scope, budget, timeline, resource planning, testing, change management, and stabilization.
- Oversee vendor relationships, contract performance, and portfolio budget management (OPEX/CAPEX).
- Ensure compliance with internal controls, data governance, cybersecurity standards, and release governance.
- Support enterprise integration, customer master data alignment, and reporting capabilities across platforms.
- Drive AI enablement across the Commercial application portfolio, identifying and deploying AI/automation use cases (pricing optimization, customer analytics, demand forecasting).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field
- 18+ years of progressive IT experience, including leadership of enterprise application teams and strategic programs
- 3+ years supporting or leading Commercial application portfolios
- Proven expertise in platforms, particularly in SAP ecosystems, CRM ecosystems (e.g., D365, Salesforce), pricing solutions (e.g., PROS or equivalent), and analytics platforms, along with demonstrated experience in product ownership
- Deep understanding of commercial processes (Lead-to-Cash, pricing lifecycle), customer data management, and revenue drivers
- Proven ability to lead enterprise initiatives and partner with senior stakeholders across Commercial, Finance, IT, and business functions
Compensation
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $180,000 - 200,000 + bonus + benefits. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. At Novolex, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
